Volume 57 is an international platform for actors, dancers and musicians.

The initial idea came from a group of directors, actors, dancers and producers. We are all travellers, speak more than one language and live and work in different countries .We believe that a network like Volume 57 will become the missing link between performers and professionals, spanning different countries and languages.

The difference between Volume 57 and all existing national representations is a careful selection through personal contacts and later on, through a committee. We donīt want this site to be about thousands of performers, stuffed together in a useless place. Itīs about connecting families and highlighting outstanding artists.

Sound samples will provide examples of the various languages spoken by each actor. We talked to many casting agents and directors, and they all explained that the reason why they invite the same actors to cast for their international productions is that the simply donīt know which actor speaks which language and how well. We believe that by providing the opportunity to listen to actors‘ voices, we can revolutionize the whole searching and casting process. And last but not least: how pleasant and amusing it is to listen to the voice of someone who has caught your eye!

There is no representation for dancers, except through personal websites, personal contacts andbillboards. Dance is increasingly becoming an overlapping art form between dancing and acting. This is why it makes sense to represent those two arts close to each other.

Suggestions and networking will have to come from each one of you, in order to make Volume 57 grow.

Imagine....
You are a French director looking for a Polish actor around 50 who speaks English. You are on tour with your theater project in Lithuania, and one of your actors falls ill. You need a replacement who is able to perform in Spanish .You are a dancer who has just moved to New York and you want to know who is working in the city. You are living in London, planning an international theater project in Buenos Aires, and you want to contact performers from there before you go. You want to be represented all over the world. You are a choreographer looking for street dancers with very special skills for your next project. You donīt have an agent. You are an advertisement agent from Holland and you are looking for the voice of an older male actor, who speaks Italian with a Dutch accent .You are a young filmmaker, looking for an Indian actor for your project in Berlin. You are a talented actress not known in the film world because your career is mainly in the theater, or you stopped performing for some years. You are looking for collaboration on your new dance piece. You are planning to shoot your Irish film partly in Brazil, and you want to get a strong impression of actors over there. You are an American producer and you want to cast the part of a Czech gangster with a talented actor who originally comes from there. How many people in the industry donīt even know which actor is able to perform in which language or dialect?
