Volume 57 is an international platform for performers, created by the artists themselves. We are all actors, producers, musicians or directors, we are all travelers and in the first days it was Birol Ünel (Fatih Akin's" Head On") Tony Gatlif ("Exil, Gadjo Dilo") and Geno Lechner (Hal Hartley's Flirt, Schindler's List) sitting around a table and discussing the idea of Volume 57.
They asked themselves what could happen if they built their own place, apart from hundreds of websites floating in cyberspace or the official national representations.
We believe that the internet is a very powerful and useful tool, but we did not like any of the existing platforms, where you can find every one and no one and where obviously a commercial aspect is ruling and nobody cares who all these performers are. We tried to give Volume 57 many thoughts from our own experiences and a very radical eye.
Andres Castoldi from Buenos Aires is creating the design of Volume 57 and Rolf Maidhof is the master of the numbers, our programmer.
Nadine Harash is all over the place, she is scouting, ringing at unknown door bells and writing long letters and all Volume 57 members connect with the performers they respect and love around them.
We are more of a label or something that does not have a name yet than "another place in the internet" and we definitely want to start producing own ideas.
Something important must be said :
We are not an agency, but we work closely together with agents, casting agents and producers. We are developing ideas how to promote our self worldwide and every person on Volume 57 is clearly chosen by us. We work for volume57 out of enthusiasm and the intent is to create a place that is good for all of us.

Look at the movie clips, they are very entertaining , listen to music and sound files and if ever you have questions, we can find a way to answer them, but more than that- we would be happy to meet in the real world.
